Gerry Ziegelhofer was born and raised in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She attended O.C.C. in Syracuse, N.Y. and Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in music education. Prior to entering real estate in 1987, Gerry worked as an elementary music teacher with the Hillsborough County school system.
